At Aesthetic Enhancements Plastic Surgery, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Armando Soto understands that surgical liposuction is not for everyone; therefore, he provides CoolSculpting as a noninvasive alternative. During the CoolSculpting procedure, a controlled cooling technique is used to specifically target and freeze fat cells in areas of localized excess. Once the cells are frozen, the body will dispose of the dead cells through its natural elimination processes.

Candidates will personally meet with our team to discuss their aesthetic goals and develop their unique treatment plan, with most patients requiring 2 to 3 treatments to achieve their contour goals. Results usually begin to be appreciable within 3 weeks, but final results are usually not seen until 2 to 3 months after the final treatment. CoolSculpting is ideal for healthy patients with good skin who wish to eliminate stubborn fat pockets in and around their abdomen, thighs, arms, and neck.

During The Procedure

During a CoolSculpting procedure, patients should not feel any pain, but will feel slight pressure in the areas being treated. The practitioner will place the cooling device on the area of the body where the fat is to be removed. The device pulls the fat pocket up between the cooling panels, where the freezing process will ensue. Treatment will last about 35 minutes to an hour, depending on the size of the area being treated. Following the procedure, patients can resume their normal day. They may experience some redness and tingling on the treated area, but this will subside quickly.

Coolsculpting FAQS

Guaranteed Results?

Yes. Cryolipolysis has years of extensive research and studies behind it, performed by highly skilled experts in dermatology and plastic surgery. CoolSculpting is a patented technology that has been tested, refined, and is now available worldwide. Studies show that with one treatment, patients experienced a 20% reduction in fat after two months and a 25% reduction in fat after 6 months with each treatment.

How Safe Is It?

CoolSculpting works by applying a controlled cold temperature, targeting fat cells in selected areas. As it is noninvasive and applied only on the skin’s surface, there is no need for a recovery period, except for some redness that can last from as little as a few minutes up to a few hours. There may also be some swelling that may last for a week. The cold temperature induces a process called “programmed cell death” in the fat cells, and this happens at a temperature that is higher than that necessary to cause harm to surrounding non-fat tissues, making the treatment very selective for fat. The dead fat is then broken down by the body and released through natural processes.

Can I Regain the Fat Cells?

Once the treated fat cells are eliminated from the body, they do not regenerate. However, the remaining fat cells can become larger and increase the size of the body. Thus, it is important to adhere to an active lifestyle and healthy diet so the results achieved will be maintained over the long-term.

Number of Treatments?

This depends. Multiple treatments may be recommended for those who have thicker layers of fat in the target areas. Depending on the patient’s aesthetic goals, Dr. Soto and his team may recommend one full treatment up to a number of treatments spanning a few months.
