A flat or unshapely butt may be a result of genetics, weight loss, or aging. However, board-certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. Armando Soto at Aesthetic Enhancements Plastic Surgery in Orlando offers Brazilian butt lift surgery to create a fuller, rounder looking butt. With years of training, Dr. Soto has perfected this procedure, which liposuctions fat from the hips and abdomen and then grafts the purified fat to contour the buttocks to a shapelier form. This surgery is a great option for patients who desire a natural approach, as opposed to receiving synthetic implants. Patients must also have good skin elasticity and enough body fat to undergo this procedure.
The body will first be initially evaluated to make sure that the patient is a good candidate for the Brazilian butt lift method. It will also be assessed as to which areas will be liposuctioned. Depending on the amount of fat necessary to fill the buttocks area, multiple donor sites on the body may be considered. After liposuction has been performed, a closed sterile system is used which ensures the fat tissue is never exposed to the air. This keeps it safe and purified for reinjection into the buttocks. Our plastic surgery office uses P188, a triple-wash antibiotic that sterilizes the tissue and separates the healthy fat from any tissue that may not survive the transfer process. We then reinstate the fat little by little to make sure that the layering is done properly, effectively and that the results are smooth and shapely.
Brazilian Butt Lift Reviews
"Incredible Brazilian Butt Lift - What a Transformation - Wow- what an artistic surgeon! An incredible lipo that was done that totally amazed me. I have an hour glass figure. I went in for a lipo consultation for my belly and lovehandles. I ended up with a brazilian butt lift which is removing fat from the belly and love handles and put that same fat back to my butt area.He created a well rounded butt which I never had before. What an amazing transformation! My doctor was no doubt a professional in his field. After my consultation he highly recommended the brazilian butt lift for me and I am so glad I listened to him and did it. First day after surgery was difficult, but after that every day is better. I can't sit on the butt for 4 weeks, very challenging but well worth it. "- 1. / RealSelf / Nov 16, 2009
"Editorial review from Citysearch - Dr Soto was recommended to me by a former patient of his. Since being referred, I've undergone two surgeries with him: a Brazilian butt lift and a revision of my breast lift (done by another surgeon years ago). Having been treated by 2 different plastic surgeons prior to my surgeries with Dr Soto left me wary and unsure of ever achieving my aesthetic goals. After my 1st consult, I decided to take the plunge - I could not be happier with my results. Dr Soto's work truly speaks for itself, I look and feel great. Not only does he listen and take time to understand - he ensures that the outcome is nothing short of the patient's goals. He knows how to create an environment of comfort and trust, and is a true visionary in his field. I would highly recommend him to anyone! I have the utmost confidence that he will go above and beyond what is expected. I have a newfound confidence and love for my body!! Dana T., Orlando, FL"- D. / Judy's Book / Jul 08, 2012

"I had a tummy tuck 3 weeks ago and I’m already excited about my results. Dr Soto is stern and expects a certain level of competence from his patients. I can tell he wants his work to be perfect. He seemed a little to stern at my second post op visit but at my third visit he explained why. Made total sense once he explained the meaning behind everything. I love how when he talks to you, he’s talking to you. Not just going through the motions because it’s his job but he actually sees you as a patient and not just money. I did a lot of research on plastic surgeons in the Orlando area and concluded that he would be well worth the cost. Like I mentioned above, I’m only 3 weeks (to the day) post op and I’m excited to reveal my new shape. I have to admit one thing, I’ve had two c-sections and a breast augmentation in the past, this surgery was much more painful. A few people said if I did well with a c-section (which I tolerated well), then a tummy tuck would be tolerable. My first two days where very hard. It literally felt like hot pokers we’re stuck in my stomach. The incision is extremely numb and my upper pubic area is very sensitive. Other then that, as of right now, I’m doing well. The binders/belly board/waist trainer are almost worse then the surgery. 3 weeks to go and I’m done!! Next up from Dr Soto is a Brazilian butt lift :-)I would recommend Dr Soto to my family members. Thank you!!"- Anonymous / RateMDs / Dec 16, 2018
This surgery is considered an outpatient procedure and general anesthesia is usually used. In some cases, IV sedation will be used. This depends on the extent of the liposuction and transfer process . The surgery lasts an average of 2 hours depending on the number of donor sites and fat layering needed. After surgery, a compression garment is worn to help with the swelling and also assist in the contouring of the buttocks. We also prescribe an Aloe Purinol medication regime to help enhance the fat transfer results. Patients are advised not to put weight on the butt area for the first 2-3 weeks following surgery. Sitting or laying down must be done with the weight mostly on the thighs. Final results, after the swelling and bruising has subsided, usually can be seen within 6-8 weeks.

Brazilian Butt Lift FAQs
When done correctly, the result of a Brazilian butt lift should look and feel natural. It is very important for those who are considering this procedure to find a plastic surgeon with good background and experience with this type of surgery. The results will be affected by the quality of how the fat to be reinstated is selected and purified, and the procedure of how it is injected.
Natural or Synthetic?
Many patients opt for fat transfers because they feel it is more safe and natural. For some, they are simply not comfortable with implants or a foreign device placed in their buttocks. When choosing whether to go natural or with implants, it’s important to understand the pros and cons to each. The one disadvantage of fat transfers is that the injected fat may be naturally reabsorbed into the body over time, which means that a secondary surgery could become necessary later on in order to maintain results. Implants are a longer-lasting solution so patients will need to consider the long-term effects of surgery carefully.
Multiple Donor Sites?
Multiple donor sites for the fat grafting may include the lower backside, abdomen, love handles, and the thighs. Liposuction done in these areas usually also helps contour the surrounding areas of the buttocks, which results in a gorgeous silhouette.
What If I Gain Weight?
The ideal candidates for this procedure are those who are at or very close to their goal weight. Both significant weight gain or loss will compromise the results of the surgery. Patients who have had this procedure should stick to a healthy lifestyle with proper diet and exercise.
