My Daily Skin Routine

I often hear: “You’re young, your skin already looks great, you don’t need to worry about creams till you’re older.”. I usually answer that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure! But you don’t have to spend a lot of time or money achieving your dream complexion. I’d like to share my simple, but very effective skin care routine- it may not be right for your skin or goals, but I’m confident a quick visit to us at Aesthetic Enhancements Plastic Surgery in Orlando can be the start you need to get you there too.

I usually start off my mornings by using Alastin Gentle Cleanser. For all my dry skin girls out there: you’ll love this because it doesn’t strip your face and gives you that “I think my face might crack because it’s so dry” feeling. Next- and this is my favorite part of the morning-I massage in a pea sized amount of SkinMedica Dermal Repair Cream. Believe me when I tell you, this is not only super hydrating, but it feels amazing on the skin, and also, it smells like it’s been sent from the skin care gods. I will admit, sometimes I sit and sip on my coffee while my skin absorbs all the dermal repair goodness. Finally, before heading out for the day, I make sure I apply my EltaMD sunscreen. Even though I spend my days mostly indoors (whether at the office or at home binging my favorite show), it is important to understand that skin can still be affected by those pesky UV rays. You heard it here folks, UV rays are one of the reasons why wrinkles exist. So grab your sunscreen and let’s age gracefully!

After a long day, the first thing I want to do is get into some comfy sweats and get rid of my makeup (fellow homebody here!). Again, I like to keep my skin care regimen simple and speedy. I grab my Alastin Gentle Cleanser, lather up (yes, it is gentle enough to use twice daily), and pat dry. Every other night, I apply retinol by SkinMedica to prevent fine lines/wrinkles and maintain my skin’s youthful collagen production levels. It has been my go to product in improving skin texture and tone; can you say healthy glow?! Of course on nights when I’m taking a break from retinol, I still use my SkinMedica Dermal Repair Cream. The end result: smooth and supple skin; what they say is true, good things come in small shiny packages!
