If you feel self-conscious or physical discomfort due to overly large or irregular labia, you may be a great candidate for surgical labiaplasty. Sometimes referred to as vaginal rejuvenation surgery, labiaplasty removes excess tissue from the inner vaginal lips (labia) to address sensitive medical or cosmetic concerns.

As a board-certified plastic surgeon who understands the intimate nature of this procedure, Dr. Armando Soto performs labiaplasty to help women enhance their comfort, confidence, and quality of life.

Serving Labiaplasty Patients Throughout the Orlando Metro Area

Labiaplasty patients from all over the Orlando metro region and across Florida seek out Dr. Soto for his skill, compassion, and expertise in performing surgical labiaplasty. He regularly sees patients from communities including:

  • Winter Park
  • Winter Garden
  • Kissimmee
  • Sanford

Am I a Good Candidate for Labiaplasty in Orlando?

Irregular labia can cause irritation and discomfort during sexual intimacy and while wearing tight clothing. In addition to restoring feminine function, reshaping and reducing the labia may help by:

  • Addressing excess tissue that causes the labia minora to hang visibly lower than the outer vaginal lips
  • Reducing discomfort during sexual intercourse or exercise
  • Increasing confidence and comfort when wearing yoga pants, swimsuits, or other snug-fitting clothes
  • Restoring the pinkish appearance of labial edges

How Is Labiaplasty performed?

Dr. Soto typically performs labiaplasty as an outpatient surgery using general anesthesia. During your vaginal rejuvenation surgery, he uses exceptional care and precision to remove excess tissue from the labia minora (inner vaginal lips) before suturing the incisions with dissolvable stitches. Scars typically blend into the natural wrinkles and folds of the vaginal lips.

What To Expect After Surgery

After labiaplasty, bruising and swelling are normal, and you may also experience occasional spot bleeding or temporary numbness of the labia for a few weeks. These symptoms gradually resolve on their own.

You can expect to return to light everyday activities and nonstrenuous work within a week or 2 of surgery. However, you should postpone sexual intercourse and vigorous physical activity for about 4 to 6 weeks.

Full recovery from labiaplasty surgery typically takes 3 to 6 weeks, although this varies depending on the amount of correction required and whether you supplement your labiaplasty with additional procedures. For example, many women choose to combine vaginal rejuvenation with complementary procedures such as breast augmentation or tummy tuck surgery as part of a comprehensive mommy makeover surgery.

You should be able to enjoy your final labiaplasty results once all residual swelling has resolved, which may take up to 3 to 6 months.

Labiaplasty FAQs

Are labiaplasty results permanent?

Yes! However, your body will continue to age after surgery, which means your labia may lose volume as the years pass.

Does labiaplasty make you tighter “down there?”

Contrary to what many women think, labiaplasty is not a vaginal tightening procedure. It is primarily focused on minimizing the size, shape, and appearance of the vaginal lips and does not address internal vaginal function or laxity.

Does labiaplasty affect sensation?

The labia minora are nerve-rich and, therefore, play a pivotal role in sexual arousal. Choosing an experienced labiaplasty surgeon with extensive knowledge of the female anatomy is critical for preserving post-surgery sensation. While temporary numbness is a common side effect, your surgery should not reduce sensation long-term.
